Disney Approaches Drew Struzan as possible Artist for Star Wars Episode 7

Disney recently approached longtime Star Wars artist Drew Struzan about possibly doing artwork for the upcoming Star Wars Episode 7 which is scheduled to be released sometime in 2015.

 

Struzan designed the artwork for all six previous Star Wars films, and for more than 100 other iconic films including the Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones and Back to the Future series.

“I got a couple calls already this week on Star Wars from Disney,” Struzan said. “Oh my god, I’m trying to be retired! You know, I spent 35 years painting Star Wars. I painted Star Wars before most of you were born!
“But I guess there is always a chance. There’s no intention… If the opportunity arises, it will be a real temptation.”
