Marvel’s Ant-Man – The First Flop?

Earlier today, Marvel released it’s first teaser trailer for Ant-Man – Who or What you might ask? Yes Ant-Man. For those of you left in the dark, Ant-Man is definitely not a name that the general public knows, or might even care about and it might be one of Marvel’s latest flops.

Ant-Man is Scott Lang – a reformed thief and an electronics expert who goes from human size – to ant-size. Why would anyone want to do this? Well, I’m not sure but I assume Marvel has it all figured out. I decided to give the trailer a shot and at first glance it seemed good – then I got to the part of Ant-Man flying on an insect (which I guess is expected) and decided to turn it off.

I don’t know about you, but I am beginning to feel that Marvel thinks they can take any and everything from the comic world and turn it into a multi-million/billion hit. Does the world really consider a man who flies on insects an actual hero? Now don’t get me wrong, the cast for this movie looks fantastic but I feel as if it lacks substance, true meaning, an actual reason to make me want to stand up and say “Yes, Ant-Man I can connect with you and feel you make the world a better place!” Unfortunately it has not, if I wanted to watch some ride an ant, I would re-watch Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and probably get more excitement from it.

I think that Ant-Man will not be as successful as Marvel hopes and I think they are really scrambling for comic characters to turn into success stories.

Here is the trailer and I am very curious to read your take on Ant-Man
