Cycle for Survival! Help Raise Money For Cancer!

Every once in a while it is important to write about an event which helps other people. Many of us are privileged – living healthy lives, well this is not the case for some people which is why a post like this is extremely important.

Matt, from Comic Blog Elite , recently sent out an email about an upcoming event which is not only for a GREAT cause, but can also help us shed some pounds.

Matt is participating in the annual Cycle for Survival event which helps raise money for  rare cancer research via the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Here is some more info about the event:

Cycle Gives Each Of Us The Power To Truly Make A Difference!

Our team is riding in Cycle for Survival, the annual, indoor relay-style team cycling event that has raised over $9 million in support of lifesaving research on rare cancers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

This is our second year participating in the event. We brought in nearly $4000 for the cause in 2011, and the event itself brought in over $4 million! You can help TEAM COMICS CURE and MSKCC surpass those numbers in 2012.

Why Do We Cycle?

We cycle to honor the fearless people our team knows personally and the countless others affected by rare cancers worldwide. We cycle to support the research Cycle for Survival makes possible at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. In just the past five years, Cycle has directly funded 25 clinical trials and research studies. We will cycle with 2,000 teams and 10,000 fellow cyclers across the country who are providing a renewed sense of hope for patients and their loved ones around the world.
