Over the past few weeks there has been tremendous controversy regarding Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained.
The movie is a success but there are thousands of people who wanted to boycott the latest NECA action figure toys.

To summarize, Najee Ali, Director of Project Islamic Hope states that these action figures depict slavery and the hardships that accompanied it. He stated that ““Selling slaves as action figures is a slap in the face of our ancestors. Tarantino and Weinstein didn’t have action figures for their movie ” Inglorious Basterds” because they know the Jewish community would never allow it and the African-American community shouldn’t allow anyone to disrespect our ancestors.”
Since this became such a hot topic, I knew it was only a matter of time before the figures sold out, regardless if NECA decided to pull them off the market or not. One market that is doing extremely well is eBay.
Last week one auction which included only 5 of the 6 action figures ended for $459 – Yes $459! Each figure retails for $34.99 – making the total $174.95 – Talk about an instant profit!
These figures are now long gone and if you are interested in purchasing a set prepare to pay a fine price for it. There is currently one more eBay auction live now, and the price is currently at $305 – However this auction includes all 6 complete figures – The rarest so far is Broomhilda.
On Amazon, sellers are asking $685 alone for her – making her the most sought after figure. Some of the figures go in and out of stock – Better get them while they last – Amazon Django Unchained
