Entertainment Earth Begins SDCC Exclusive Countdown

Entertainment Earth has started the countdown to this years San Diego Comic Con by listing one new SDCC exclusive for each 500 Facebook “Likes” OR Twitter “Follows” they receive.

Currently there are 4 exclusives listed. There are a total of 28 exclusives that will be unveiled.

Diamond Top 100 Comics – April 2013

Diamond has released the latest list of top 100 comics sold in April 2013.

 

 

DC Comics had three of the top ten best-selling comics in April with Batman #19 taking the #1 spot this time followed by Marvels’ Thanos Rising #1.

 

One new personal favorite comics is Mark Millar and Frank Quitely’s Jupiter’s Legacy #1 from Image Comics – which took a great #3 spot for the month.

IMAGE COMICS ANNOUNCES IMAGE EXPO 2013

Publisher to host media event on July 2 in San Francisco

 

At the Diamond Comics Retailer summit in Chicago today, Image Comics Publisher Eric Stephenson announced Image Expo 2013, a unique media event that will take place in San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts on July 2, 2013.

 

Image Expo 2013 will be an all-day event featuring announcements from Image Comics, the publisher of the best-selling comic book titles THE WALKING DEAD, SAGA, FATALE, EAST OF WEST and JUPITER’S LEGACY, as well as appearances by superstar creators, including Image partner and THE WALKING DEAD creator Robert Kirkman and Ed Brubaker, co-creator of the Eisner-nominated FATALE, revealing panels, and autograph sessions.

Tickets for this exciting event will available to the general public for purchase on May 3, 2013.

Boston Comic Con Cancelled – But NOT at Larry’s Comics

In light of the nationwide manhunt for the man responsible for the Boston Marathon bombings, the 2013 Boston Comic Con has officially been cancelled.

 

However, this news will NOT stop one comic shop owner. Larry Doherty owner of Larry’s Comics just sent out a mass email stating that:

I just heard Boston Comic con is officially cancelled due to the manhunt for the Boston marathon bomber.

We should not allow terrorists to control our lives.

I  will not allow these douche-bags to control mine.
Let’s have a fun day together & heal.
FREE for vendors.
FREE for fans.
FREE for creators.

Tomorrow in Lowell, MA I’m hosting an impromptu convention:

the show must go on Boston Comic Con Cancelled But NOT at Larrys Comics

The show MUST go on in my building in Lowell, MA.

Riley Rossmo Original Artwork – Bedlam

Image Comics are having an amazing run right now. It seems that every single new comic they release is an instant hit – The Walking Dead, Saga, Peter Panzerfaust, and one of my favorites Bedlam.

Bedlam  is written by Nick Spencer and artwork done by Riley Rossmo.  Riley was the artist for issues 1-6 and as soon as I picked up the comic I knew I needed to snag some original artwork.

For those who don’t know, Bedlam is about Fillmore Press who was once Madder Red, a homicidal maniac and criminal overlord who terrorized the town of Bedlam for years. Then he got better. This is all the info you get on this great comic.

After learning that issue 6 was Riley’s last book, I knew I had to get some art to remember him and his portrayal of the characters. I contacted Jason – Riley’s dealer – and owner of: The Interior Pages  about getting a few pieces from Issue 6.

Jason just got his shipment in and sent me the link to his website – and the rest is history. I now own 2 of my favorite panels from Bedlam 6 and I could not be any happier!
