Nerds of the World, Unite! It’s “The Way of the Nerd” at Chicago Comic Con

Ever wonder how to sell a project to the film, comic book, video game, toy, music or television industry? Ken Goldstein did, and will talk about the way he broke into the business in the “The Way of the Nerd” panel at next week’s Chicago Comic Con, based on the teaching tools found in his new book, The Way of the Nerd: Practical Advice of Impractical People (available at thewayofthenerd.com), which went viral this summer with over 100,000 ebooks downloaded around the world!

The panel will feature top artists who have reached their goals and are sharing the techniques they used to get where they are. They are designed to be a great primer for any attendee coming to the Con with an idea for a project they’d like to sell. Goldstein, an EMMY Award winning television director who has worked with FOX, Warner Brothers, Playstation, Dark Horse Comics and Tokyopop, will also be giving away several free signed copies of his book during the panel.

The panel, set for Saturday at 5 pm. in Room B, is hosted by Jeff Smith, co-founder of the Chicago Nerd Social Club. The sponsor of the panel is safeandsecuremobile.com, which is giving away ten free Ultimate Mobile Armor apps. Other giveaways at the panel include some signed merchandise (t-shirts, DVD, video games, etc).

The panel also features:

• Jon Schnepp, producer, director, actor, editor, writer and cinematographer. He is a writer/producer/director at Titmouse, and has been a creative force in all 4 seasons of the hit Adult Swim animated series “Metalocalypse”. He has made over a dozen episodes of the classic “Space Ghost: Coast to Coast”, and has voiced characters on Aqua Teen Hunger Force (The Wisdom Cube) and directed shows like “Upright Citizens Brigade” and “The Venture Bros.” He is currently directing and producing the 4th season of “Metalocalypse.”

•Carlos Pesina, lead animator on “Mortal Kombat” and the actor who portrayed Raiden in the first game; with John Vogel, the lead story writer on “Mortal Kombat”

• Andreja Djookovic, founder of Babaroga Games (mobile game producer of the monster hits including Zombies!, EA Sports titles, SPORE, Splinter Cell and more)
