2012 C2E2 Review & Videos

C2E2 has come to an end and I still believe that it is the first event that starts the comic con season.  Think about the first day of spring when the weather is nice and all you can look forward to is Summer. That is what C2E2 is.

Overall the event was a success. The size of the convention has grown since last year and there were many improvements such as bigger celebrities and easier access to panels. I only had the opportunity to attend Saturday but will attend more days next year. One great improvement was seeing the HUGE Red C2E2 letters as I entered the convention. I picked up my guide and immediately made my way through the convention.

The worst thing that happened to me was losing my camera! I had WELL over 100 photos and it all went down the drain the second I noticed my camera missing… BOO! I will have to do the next best thing and find the best youtube videos that cover the event.

As I mentioned earlier, this year was bigger and better than last year. It was also organized extremely neatly. The big displays were up front, the main “buy/sell/trade” floor behind and the artist alley was in the back set up in rows and rows of tables.

C2E2 had a ton of great celebrities and people from the comic industry such as John Cusack (a fellow Chicagoan) Chris Hardwick, Lauren Cohan, Steven Yuen, Tom Morello, and Val Kilmer. That is a very good lineup for a comic con! I was also happy to see Alison Haislip.

One great addition, was the Captain America: The First Avenger Auction which took place on Saturday night. There were a TON OF items that sold – CLICK HERE for a list – and also CLICK HERE to see all the items that were for sale.

Here is excerpt of the sale: “C2E2 will be hosting a Captain America: The First Avengerauction on Saturday, April 14 at 6:00 PM CDT put on by Profiles in History and Marvel Entertainment. The auction consists of over 220 lots including the incredible costumes, props and vehicles from the 2011 film! One of the key items to be sold is the three-piece Captain America custom suit made of ballistic nylon with rubberized backing.”

I had the chance to also buy some great comics and meet a ton of great fans of SDCC.CO! Overall C2E2 was a success and I can’t wait for next year!

Here are some videos for your enjoyment.
